Stock Ready-to-Assembly (RTA) Cabinets

Our Stock RTA cabinets are imported and flat packed ready to ship from various warehouses, with vast a majority of them shipping from Southern California. More than three quarters of our stock product lines are framed cabinets, and the rest are frameless. Specifications, available sizes and accessories of stock lines are slightly different from each other.

CONSTRUCTION

Construction for framed cabinet

Framed Cabinets:

  • The majority of our stock cabinets are built using a framed construction - a 'face frame' is in between the cabinet box and door and drawer fronts. The cabinet hardware (hinges and drawer glides) are mounted on the face frame. When the cabinet doors and drawers are closed, the face frame is visible.

  • The size of the reveal (the gap in between the doors and the gap between the door and drawer fronts) determines whether it is a half or semi-full overlay.

Frameless Cabinets:

  • For frameless cabinets, cabinet doors and drawers are attached directly to the side panels of the cabinet box. By definition, they are always considered full overlay, and offer more interior storage space than framed cabinets.

  • Some of our stock frameless cabinets have detachable, adjustable legs with a toe kick cover, while some have an integrated toe kick, where the box side panels are recessed at the bottom to form the toe kick portion.

CABINET BOX

Most of our framed stock cabinets are constructed with 5/8" or 1/2" plywood, and all of our frameless stock cabinets are constructed with 3/4" plywood material.

  • The majority of our stock cabinets have natural wood interior finishes. Almost all of our stock cabinets have full-depth adjustable shelves, using either stainless steel shelf pins or plastic shelf inserts.

  • Some stock cabinets require finished end panels to cover exposed sides: framed cabinets need a 1/4" thick finished skin panel that fits behind the 'lip' of the face frame; frameless cabinets offer 3/4" finished panels that are made of the same door material, and the finished panels' 3/4" front edges sit flush with the cabinet doors and drawer fronts.

  • Our stock cabinet doors are crafted from many wood species, such as birch or maple.

  • Most doors are 3/4"  thick, and are coated with an oil-based finishing that complies with CARB II and E1 environmental standards.

  • Door / drawer pulls are not included with stock cabinets.

Drawer Box

  • Most of our drawer boxes are made of wood and have a dovetail construction. The 5-piece drawer boxes do not come pre-assembled.

  • Drawer box sides are typically made of 5/8" solid poplar wood and drawer box bottom are made of 1/4” – 1/2” thick plywood with a wood veneer.

  • Most of our drawer boxes are clear-coat finished.

Hardware

Hinges and drawer glides

  • Almost all of the drawer glides for our stock RTA cabinets are soft-close undermount, and most hinges are adjustable with a 110° opening angle with a soft-closing feature.

All hinges and drawer glides are imported brands and cannot be easily upgraded to premium hardware such as Blum®.

Packing

All-in-one packing for RTA cabinet

Doors and fronts are packing separately

  • The majority of our stock RTA cabinets are flat packed in a single corrugated cardboard box for each unit. For example, if you order one B18 (a one-door one-drawer 18”-wide base unit), the following components will be all packed inside: the cabinet box & drawer, the box components, the doors & drawer fronts (including the face frame if any), and the hardware, such as hinges and drawer glides.

  • It is not possible to order only individual doors or components for specific cabinet units, as these parts come pre-packed together.

  • For stock frameless ready-to-assemble cabinets, the cabinet doors and drawer fronts are packed separately from the rest: the cabinet box, the drawer box and the hardware.

  • Doors and drawer front sets can be ordered separately if needed (not listed directly online and please email us for a quote). Door and drawer fronts are ordered in sets. For example, 1 order of B24 doors/drawer fronts includes 1 top drawer front and 2 doors for the B24 cabinet.
